Compliance in Sure On Safety Products

Preparedness is not about filling a bag. It is about choosing equipment that performs under stress.

Each component in the Sure On Safety Grab-and-Go Kit is selected with recognised standards and real-world conditions in mind.

Here is what that means in practical terms.

Escape Hood – EN 403

The escape hood aligns with EN 403, the European standard

specifically created for fire escape devices.

In simple terms, this means it is:

  • Designed for escape from building fires

  • Tested against toxic gases produced during fires

  • Built to provide critical breathing protection during evacuation

This is not a dust mask. It is engineered for fire smoke environments where toxic gases, not flames, are often the primary danger.

Protective Gloves – Heat & Tear Resistance

The gloves selected are designed to withstand demanding industrial environments.

In relatable terms:

  • Heat resistance up to approximately 250°C contact heat

  • Tear and abrasion resistance to prevent ripping under stress

  • Grip support for handling doors, railings, and stairwells

During evacuation, door handles, railings, or surfaces may be hot. Debris may be present. Gloves reduce the risk of burns and hand injuries at the worst possible moment.

This is not about comfort. It is about protection when instinct takes over.

High-Visibility Vest – Class 2 Certified

The high-visibility vest used is Class 2 certified.

Class 2 certification means:

  • Sufficient fluorescent surface area to stand out in low light

  • Reflective strips designed to catch light from torches or emergency lighting

  • Visibility at greater distances compared to lower-class garments

In smoke-affected stairwells or poorly lit conditions, being seen helps coordination and accountability during evacuation.

LED Torch – CE & RoHS Compliant

The LED torch carries CE marking and RoHS compliance.

In practical terms:

  • Meets recognised electrical safety requirements

  • Free from restricted hazardous substances

  • Designed for safe and reliable use

In an emergency, visibility is survival. A compliant torch reduces the risk of electrical faults when reliability matters.

First Aid – Essential Immediate Support

The first aid components currently include basic bandages in multiple sizes.

These provide:

  • Immediate wound coverage

  • Protection for minor cuts and abrasions

  • Practical support during evacuation

They are simple, accessible, and universally understood. Enhancements are being developed, but even basic protection can make a meaningful difference in chaotic situations.

The Bigger Picture

Compliance is not marketing language. It is accountability.

Using recognised standards such as EN 403, Class 2 high-visibility certification, and heat-resistant protective gloves ensures the kit is grounded in defensible, real-world performance.

Because in a building emergency, equipment should not just look prepared.
